First Day of Preschool

It was a very special day for the youngest boy in the Beckman family. Bobby started preschool. He was excited and could not wait to meet his new friends. He told me to not be nervous. Thanks, Aunt Emily for helping pick out my first day of school outfit. I look really cool.

He wanted to carry his new spider man lunchbox into school. He kept telling everyone to look at it because the picture changes.
After I signed him in, he run to the the cars and trucks. He was to busy to give me a hug
good-bye but he did let me take one more picture.

Here is his first piece of school work. When I asked him about his favorite part of the day, he said playground time. No surprise from little athletic boy.

As for me, a few tears did fall as I left the school. I can't believe my little boy is going up.

Leslie seemed as happy as ever when I picked her up from the babysitter and she smiled at Bobby when she got in the car. Bobby reached out for her and squeezed her hand. They did miss each other a little bit.

Over the last several weeks, I have been smiling every time I see Bobby and Leslie playing together. They seem to enjoy each other more and more. It is so cute to hear them laugh together. It reminds me so much of my relationship with my brothers and sister.

Bobby has recently started to love books. We have to read 3 or 4 each night. Thanks Aunt Liz for helping Mommy last week and reading to me.

Great Papa and Bobby

While in Chicago the kids and I made stop in Park Forest to see Jason's grandmother, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Leslie loved them all and Bobby liked being spoiled by Aunt Beth.

The Joy of my Heart

Last Saturday, we helped my Dad with some of summer homework as he prepares to be ordained a deacon in the church in February.

Meet the Girls Tour

The kids and I are in Evansville for the first leg of our trip. My brother and I are introducing our girls to extended family. Natalie and Leslie are so cute and are really enjoying meeting everyone.
I have not started taking pictures but I will post a bunch when we get home.

In other news, today is our 9th Wedding Anniversary. Jason, thank you for 9 wonderful years and our two beautiful children. Our wedding day was a blessed and very exciting day. I will always remember your bright smile as I walked down the aisle. I love you very much and hope you like the gift I left for you.

Busy, Busy and the Mall...What?

We started off this busy day by visiting Great-Grandpop. He is recovering from a recent fall and hopes to go home soon after some more rehab. He looked great and has not lost his sense of humor. He told us three really funny jokes. Bobby loved visiting him because he got to watch the birds, play the piano, and eat warm cookies and muffins.

Our next stop on our busy day was Discover Mills Mall. What, the mall. Some of you may not know that I am not a big shopper and try to limit my visits to the mall. I average about 2 to 3 visits a year. So, why would I choose to take the whole family with me. I had a haircut scheduled for today and did not have time to take the family home before the appointment. Jason and the kids hung out in the Bass Pro Shop while I got my haircut. Then we had lunch as a family and rode the carousel. I did do some shoe shopping for the kids. My new favorite find is the CROCS outlet. Below is a short video of Bobby riding the train. He is growing up so fast. Last year he would not ride alone.

On Sunday we went to Stone Mountain Park for a picnic and the Laser Show. We had wonderful time with Uncle Matt, Aunt Christy, Drew and Natalie. Gege was a big help playing with all the kids. Best Buddies!!!

My Beach Babies

We spent last week in Delray Beach for our annual summer visit to Grandma and Grandpa's house. Great-Grandmommy with the kids. We were all there together for one day and then she had to go home to Chicago. It was great to see her and introduce her to Leslie.Leslie loved being in the pool.

May Madness

May has been a very busy month for us. It started with a visit from Grandma and Grandpa for Mother's Day weekend. Thanks for coming to see us.

On May 16th we walked in the Atlanta Great Strides Walk to raise money for CF. Our team raised $6,000. Way to Go, Elena's Heroes. It is not to late to donate. The team will be collecting money until the end of the year.

On May 20th, I went to meet the newest member of the Rempe clan.

Daphne is so cute.

It was also the last day of school. Wahoo!!! Summer is here.
We spent the weekend at the lake with some of my family. Above is the view from our cabin.

It has been awhile since my last blog. I have been waiting for our new camera. It came on Wednesday. We still need some practice with it but here are my favorites from the new camera. Thanks to Julie and Andera for the recommendation of such a great camera.

Now for the family update:

Jason and Becky are excited that the summer is almost here and we are looking forward to our trip to the beach.

Bobby is learning more each day and keeps us laughing. He is so happy that the weather is nice and he can play outside.

Leslie turned nine months old yesterday and had her check-up at the doctor. She is our little spring weed. She now weighs 22.5 pounds and is 29 in tall. Leslie is crawling and pulling up to her knees.

I want to give one shout out to my little sister, Liz. She is graduating from VSU today. Way to Go!!! You are the only one to do it in 4 years. We will be watching on the computer.

Easter

We had a wonderful day at my parents house. It started with an early breakfast with my brother and his family. Here I am holding my niece, Natalie. She is so cute and I think see looks like my side of the family.

Here is my sweet baby girl. She is growing so fast. See got her third tooth on Easter. She is scooting everywhere and is trying to pull up on things. She also just learned how to sit herself up from the floor.

My sister-in-law and I decided it would be fun to dress the kids up in the same outfits for Easter. They look so cute.!!!! Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. We are still having camera issues. I hope to post more pictures of Easter soon.

Happy Birthday, Jason. I am very lucky to be married to such a great husband and father.

The kids and I hope that this year is filled with lots of love and memories for you. Thanks for taking such good care of us.

In other news, we are still waiting for our camera to be fixed. I know that many of you look at the blog to see pictures of the kids. Hang in there. I promise to post several pictures when we get our camera back.

Now for the family update:

Jason- He spent that last week living alone at our house while we had the damage from a leak in the master bathroom fixed. We moved back into the house on Monday. (Thanks mom and dad for having us in your home for such along time.) He missed us, but not the messes we make. Softball starts soon and he is looking forward to getting back on the field after the winter break.

Becky- The big news in my life is that I found out that I am going to be teaching second grade next year. I am so excited about the new challenge. It should be a great experience. I am also looking forward to Spring Break next week. The kids and I are staying home and hope to go on some day trips.

Bobby- Our little man is so funny. I laugh everyday when I am around him. Last night, he had his GeGe (my Mom) teaching him different yoga poses. He also just recently learned his address. He is looking forward to the warm weather and is already asking to go swimming.

Leslie- Our sweet little girl is growing so fast. She is now on the move. She is scooting around on her belly. We have to keep our eye on her because she has been very close to eating dog food. Her hair is starting grow in and I just bought her some bows. Look for pictures of that very soon. She is also very loud and loves "talking" to her brother.

We are proud to announce the arrival of our newest niece, Natalie Jean. We were lucky enough to meet her several hours after she was born. She came into the world on Wednesday, February 25 at 11:19am. She weighs 6 pounds exactly and is 19 and 1/2 inches long. Natalie is very cute and many say she looks like my side of the family. Leslie is very excited about having a playmate. Our camera broke this week so please click on Natalie's name to go see some pictures.
We hope to spend more time with Natalie and Drew soon and take lots of pictures of all of the kids together.

My little sister is growing up. This May she is graduating from VSU and now she is engaged. We are so happy for Liz and Spencer. It is so cool because we both got engaged on Valentine's Day. It has brought me many blessings so I hope the St. Valentine also blesses her and Spencer for many years to come. 6 Months and So Much More!!

Today, Leslie turned 6 months old. She has changed so much in the last several weeks. We are having so much fun watching her learn different things. She is giggling at her brother, rolling all over the place and sitting up on her own. Why do babies grow so fast? I am also happy to report that she has finally started to grow some hair. Leslie also started solid foods this weekend. She loves the carrots. Peas are next.

As for the rest of the family, we are all healthy and happy. Bobby has already been on his 1st trip to FL for this year. He had a great time and wants to go swimming all the time. He doesn't understand that it is too cold to swim here. I hope to get back to posting at least one a week again. I just have not had the time or any great pictures to share. I hope to post a video of the kids this week too.

Christmas Review

We had a wonderful time at the beach for Christmas. Our favorite part spending time with Grandma and Grandpa. The whole family went for a swim after opening presents. It was Leslie's first time in a pool. She loved it. We are a family of fish. We all love being in the water. Above is a video of Bobby swimming with Grandpa, he is getting better every time he visits.

We are spending the holidays in Florida with Grandma and Grandpa. Leslie's future is so bright she has to wear shades. We spent the morning watching the manatees feed in the inter coastal. Grandma and Bobby had fun playing with his new Diego fishing pole.

Right before dinner, Grandpa taught the kids about the Eight Nights of Lights and the Hanukkah miracle of the oil. Bobby helped Grandpa light the first candle on the Menorah. Leslie did a great job of supervising.

Holiday Week in Review

On Wednesday, Bobby and I went on a date to the Bob the Builder exhibit at the Atlanta Children's Museum. We went with Bobby's cousin Drew and his mommy Christy and David and his mommy Andrea. The boys had a blast and the moms enjoyed the adult time together too.

On Thursday, Turkey Day, we went to my parent's house for a family lunch. Liz and Spencer planning their shopping for Friday.

We were very lucky to be invited to the Goodrow Mountain retreat for a long weekend. It is a beautiful place. The whole family had an amazing time with our friends. Check out the Royal Family blog for more pictures from our weekend.

The family spent Halloween night with our friends at Goodrow Gang home. Bobby was Curious George. (He would not put the hat part of the costume on his head. He wore it around his neck.) He is sitting on the couch with Lana,the pirate, and David and Will-the cowboys.

In other news, I have returned to work as a first grade teacher at Lilburn Elementary. Bobby liked having his sister with him at the babysitter. I will try to update the blog each weekend with the goings on of the family.

Leslie Rose joined the church on October 12, 2008. It was a beautiful day and we were blessed to be surrounded our family and friends.

Aunt Christy and Uncle Matt have taken on the awesome responsibility of being the Godparents. Thank you so much for helping raise Leslie in the church.

The Candle symbolizes Christ, whose life was consumed out of love for us.

We would also like to thank the Goodrow's for lending us the beautiful baptismal gown Leslie is wearing. She was beautiful in the dress.

Having Fun in October

Last Thursday, we had a picnic lunch with the Goodrow Gang. It was a beautiful day in their backyard. I just love this picture of the 4 kids together. We did not plan it but Leslie and Ethan are both wearing green and brown outfits with an owl on it.

Early Saturday morning, I took this picture of Leslie. We were getting ready to leave for the fall festival at our church. She just looked so cute in her dress and hat.

Here is Bobby sitting in the hay at the festival. He had fun playing the festival games. He had to dig through the hay to find a bag of treasures.

Leslie hung out with GG in the afternoon and watched all the kids who were painting pumpkins.

Bobby and Leslie's papa is the guy in the hat and skirt. He went up on stage to learn how to hula dance. Check out the skirt and those great legs.

Jason spent the day at the festival volunteering for the Knight of Columbus. Bobby and I both got the chance to dunk him in the dunk booth. Bobby really enjoyed watching his dad fall into the cold water.

Bobby is following in the Beckman family tradition of learning to play golf early. This was by far his favorite game of the day. I can only hope that he will some day be good enough to beat is father and grandpop at their favorite sport.

Chuck E. Cheese

The Beckman's had a fun and busy weekend. Saturday night Jason was installed as an officer for the Knights of Columbus at our church. We were so excited about having a evening with no children that we forgot the camera. I hope to post some pictures later when the church photographer post them on the website. Sunday we went to Chuck E. Cheese to celebrate with Elena from the Goodrow Gang. (Click on the Goodrow Gang to see more pictures) She has gained 40 pounds and we are very excited for her. Bobby had a great time on his first visit to see the mouse and play his games. When I asked him what his favorite part was he answered, "the pizza." I hope later on he learns to like better pizza. Bobby also loved playing with Elena's cousin.

The first two pictures I took before we left for the party. Leslie was 7 weeks old on Friday and Bobby seems to like her more and more each week. He likes to hold her each morning when he gets up and give her a kiss.

Last night I decided I was ready to try giving the kids a bath together. Leslie is very different from her brother. Bobby never liked taking a bath until he was almost two. Leslie loves taking a bath. Bobby had fun showing Leslie the bath toys. He is really starting to enjoy having a sister.

Yesterday, we spent the afternoon with the Royal Family. We had a wonderful picnic at the park in their neighborhood. I wish that I had taken more pictures of the older boys but I was busy looking after the younger ones. Here is a great picture of Leslie and Wesley. They are so cute. Grandpop and Nanny Nic Visit

Grandpop came in from New York City to meet his granddaughter, Leslie Rose. She is the first girl on his side of the family in four generations. He fell in love with her very quickly.

Grandpop and Bobby had lots of fun playing this weekend. Bobby wanted to go home with him on the airplane.

On the Boat

The Beckman's spent the holiday weekend in the mountains and on the lake. Leslie did great with her first ride on the boat. She loved the sound of the boat and fell asleep every time the engine was started. Bobby had a great time driving the boat with Papa and throwing rocks at the cabin.

In other news, Leslie had her 1 month check-up on Thursday. She weighs 11 pounds 8 ounces and is 22 and 3/4 inches long. She is in the 95th percentile in all areas of growth. Big brother Bobby better watch out.

Introducing Leslie Rose Beckman

Leslie Rose Beckman joined our family on August 8, 2008 or 8-8-08. We think that the date of her birth is really cool. The Chinese believe that it will bring her luck. She was born via c-section at 4pm. She weighed 10 pounds 8 ounces and was 21 and 1/2 inches long. We are very excited to have our sweet little girl join the family.

Turtle Ranger Bobby

Today Bobby, Grandma, and Jason went on a turtle walk. Grandma is a volunteer turtle ranger in FL. Once a week she walks a mile stretch of the beach at sun rise looking for sea turtle nests and marking them. She is teaching Bobby everything she knows so that he will have respect for these beautiful endangered animals. They were very lucky to find two nest this morning and Bobby helped mark them. I am so proud of my little ranger in training. My boys are having a great time swimming at the beach and the pool.

Go Braves!!! and More

Last Wednesday, we took Bobby to his first Braves game. It was MDA night and we were there to support the cause and have a family night out. It was a great game against the Mets. The Braves won 11-4. I taught Bobby how to do the Tomahawk Chop. It was so cute to see him with my Dad watching the game.

I wish I could say that he liked watching the game but he was more excited by the big drum. We sat in left field right by the drum. He thought it was so cool to go see the top of the drum with Jason.

In other news the school year is finally over and I am enjoying the time off. Now I am just waiting for the arrive of my sweet little girl. She and I doing great and go back to the doctor on June 2. Look for an update then.

Bobby and I spent the weekend at the lake with my family. We had so much fun that I forgot to take pictures. Sorry!!

Bobby and Jason are leaving today for FL to visit Grandma and Grandpa while I will stay home for some R & R.

Great Strides 2008

Today we joined the Goodrow Gang for the annual Great Strides walk to raise money to help fight CF. Their daughter, Elena is fighting this disease. She is a very special young lady and is one of Bobby's favorite people. We had a wonderful time and loved being able to give back in this way. Bobby and Elena had a wonderful time riding in the wagon together and playing at the picnic after the walk.
Even Elena's little brother, Ethan, was having a great time watching all the people.

It is not to late to help us fight CF. We will continue to raise money until the end of the year. Every $0.94 that is raised goes directly to research and helping families with children with CF.

Where does the time go?

The end of the school year gets very busy for a teacher. It feels like time flys. I am sorry that it has taken me so long to update the blog. The Beckman's have been very busy and having tons of fun. Jason and I were very lucky to be invited by the Goodrow's to the Wine and Roses Gala for CF on April 26th. We had a great time on our first date together in a long time.
On May4th, we went to Carl Miller Park in Newnan to celebrate Zachary Peavyhouse's 1st birthday. Bobby had a great time playing with all the kids and eating the cake. He had one and half pieces. It was a really cool park and we will have to go back next time we are South of the city.

After the party, the Denton's, Hauert's and us had prayer group. We said the rosary and prayed for all of our friends and family. David, Drew and Bobby had a great time playing togther and climbing on the picnic tables.

There is only 8 more days of school for my students and 10 for me. I am looking forawrd to the end of the year. It is my hope to spend more time doing some fun activities with Bobby before the baby comes. I also hope to keep up better with updating the blog.

Camping at the Mountain

The Beckman's spent Saturday at Stone Mountain Park to celebrate, our friend, Ryan's birthday.

Happy Birthday Ryan!!!!! Above is a picture of the birthday boy with his son, Zachary and his sister Laura.

Here is a group shot of the kids except for David. He was being a little camera shy. I can't blame him after seeing all the parents standing in front of the kids jumping up and down and shouting trying to get all them to look and smile at the camera. I would be scared too.

David, Bobby and Drew are filling the bucket with dirt and rocks. They had a great time throwing rocks into the lake. David's dad and Drew were the only ones who ended up in the lake.
Here is a cute shot of Bobby and David down by the lake. We could not have asked for better weather. Below is my favorite shot of Bobby from the weekend. It is hard to believe how fast he as grown up.
I want to take this time to thank all of our friends who were on the camping trip for a wonderful weekend. We are blessed by God to have all of you around us as we grow as a family. It is truly an awesome sight to see all of us with our children. It gives us such joy to share and laugh with you. Please know you are always in our thoughts and prayers. We can't wait for the next gathering.

Gumbo Limbo

Today we went to Gumbo Limbo, an educational science center to see the sea turtles.

Bobby loves the turtles because of everything Grandma has taught him.

Building Sandcastles

Grandma and Grandpa took Bobby to the beach today.

Don't you think he is thinking "yo dudes, I am at the beach".

He had the most fun building sandcastles with Grandpa Rice.

Mommy stayed at the house to read her book. It is her favorite thing to do on vacation.

Softball and Bobby's Date with Lana

Last Thursday, Justin and Jason started the Spring Softball season at the church. Don't they look cute in their uniforms. Sorry to say they lost their first game but their is another one Friday. Go Yellow!!

Justin bought Lana to our house for a dinner date with Bobby. She was sad to see Daddy go until Bobby suggested they play in the sandbox.

When they got bored with the sand they moved onto the slide. Bobby is learning early that it is important to let the girl go first. Good Job!! Bobby.

After playing, they ate a dinner of chicken, broccoli, and some fruit. They are growing up so fast.

They finished the night by watching a movie together in Bobby's favorite chair. Bobby had a great time and can't wait for Lana to come back to play. Thanks for a great night of fun, Lana!!!

Happy Easter!!! The Lord has Risen!!!
It was a wonderful busy Easter weekend. Bobby started the weekend by going to the park with Uncle Matt, Aunt Christy, and Drew. Bobby had a great time while Mommy and Daddy stayed home getting ready for Elena's birthday party and Welcome Home for Ethan.

After the park they went to Papa and GeGe's house to dye Easter eggs. It was more fun to watch.

Saturday was party time with friends and family to honor the kids of the Goodrow Gang.

Easter Sunday was filled with celebrating the Risen Lord and birthdays. Happy Birthday to Matt, Liz and Jason. We love you!! May you have many more to come.

We finished the day with an Easter Egg hunt. What a wonderful day filled with family.

A visit from Grandpop and Nanny Nic

Saturday was a very busy for the us. After finding out about Leslie, Grandpop and Nanny Nic came for a visit. Bobby loved having Grandpop Jim read books to him and eating chocolate with Nanny.

On Sunday we went to breakfast at Mimi's Cafe and then had to say goodbye. Thanks for spoiling us with several great meals Grandpop and Nanny Nic.

Well, the time has come to start a blog. With encouragement from some of my girlfriends(Andera and Julie) I am jumping feet first into the blogging world. It is my hope that this will be a great way for our family and friends to keep up with the Beckman's. I know all of our family that lives out of town will love it. So come back to visit and see what we are up too.

Why today? You might be asking yourself. Well, just an hour ago we found out that we are a having a girl. It is one of each for the Beckman's. We are very excited and can't wait to start buying dresses and baby dolls. Leslie Rose will be joining us in early August.
